Jayaram's Swapaanam To Release On January 24

The month of January did not have any good movie releases as far as the Malayalam film industry is concerned. The only movie that got released till now is Life, which did not create any waves in the industry. The much-hyped and the most awaited movie Salala Mobiles, starring Dulquar Salman and Nazriya Nazim is getting released on January 23. Now, Jayaram starred movie Swapaanam is all set to get released on January 24.

Swapanam already had its global premiere at Mall of the Emirates during the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) on December 8. The movie depicts the tragic life of Unni (Jayaram), a temple percussionist. Unni's passion for the chenda takes him through forbidden territories, challenging traditional values.

Bengali actress Kadambari plays the female lead in this movie. The rest of the cast include Siddique, Sajitha Madhathil, Vineeth and many others. Swapaanam is directed by Shaji N Karun and is produced under the banner of Horizon Entertainment. The script has been written by Harikrishnan and Sajeev Pazhoory.

Saji Nair has wielded the camera for the film and the music has been composed by Sreevalsan J Menon. Lyrics are by Manoj Kuroor. Chenda maestros PD Namboodiri, Udayan Namboodiri, Eswaran Unni and a host of talented and well-known chenda players also appear in the film.
