Dulquer Salmaan Is Nothing Like Mammootty: Mani Ratnam

Mani Ratnam, who is awaiting the release of his upcoming film OK Kanmani with Megastar Mammootty's son Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menon in the lead, has opened up about Mammootty.

Having worked with the veteran actor before, the famed filmmaker had gone to the extent of comparing Dulquer Salmaan, who is just 15 films old, with his father.

Talking about Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi star's acting style, Mani Ratnam has said Dulquer's acting style is completely different from that of Mammootty.

He has also said that he was pleasantly surprised to see his method of acting had no influence of Mammootty and that Dulquer had his own method in which he excels.

But the maverick director had to accept the fact that Dulquer did remind him of Mammootty in a particular scene, in which his dialogue delivery was similar to that of Mammootty's.

However hard Dulquer tries not to emulate his successful father, his efforts can go in vain at times as it is sometimes inevitable to hide what originally belongs to you, in this case, his father's style.

Meanwhile Dulquer has joined hands with Salam Bhukari for his next film which will mark Salam's directorial debut. The yet to be titled flick is being scripted by Midun Manuel Thomas.

On the other hand Mammootty is awaiting the release of Bhaskar the Rascal opposite Nayantara, directed by the well known filmmaker Siddique. Stay tuned for further updates.
