Raavana not to be screened at IIFA awards

Mani Ratnam"s Raavana may not be screened in the esteemed IIFA awards as was earlier decided. The fact that IIFA is all set to take place in Srilanka has resulted in a controversy for the South Film fraternity. Owing to the sensitive situation which resulted due to the civil War most Tamil actors and eminent personalities have decided to boycott the award ceremony.

Mani too decided to call of the screening of his film at the award ceremony after the Tamil film fraternity ignored invitations from the IIFA. There was an official confirmation from Mani"s office that Raavana had nothing to do with the IIFA.

The film maker"s office and home in Chennai were also under the possibilities of being besieged if at all he decided to go ahead with the screening.
