Ilaiyaraaja
has
been
hospitalised
after
he
complained
of
chest
pain.
He
is
admitted
at
a
private
hospital
in
Chennai
after
suffering
a
mild
heart
attack.
According
to
sources,
Ilaiyaraaja
complained
of
chest
pain
and
uneasiness
earlier
today
(December
23).
His
family
members
without
wasting
time
rushed
to
Apollo
Hospital.
The
music
director
was
supposed
to
visit
Malaysia
for
a
concert
tomorrow.
A
sources
from
the
hospital
told
the
IANS,
"The
doctors
are
likely
to
perform
angioplasty
on
him
this
evening,
and
they
are
yet
to
tell
us
when
he
can
be
discharged." His
condition
is
stable.
The
music
director
is
considered
as
a
legend
in
Indian
films
for
his
contribution
towards
films
and
music
industry.
He
has
composed
music
in
Tamil,
Kannada,
Telugu,
Malayalam,
Hindi
and
Marathi
films.
Ilaiyaraaja
has
composed
over
4,500
songs
and
scored
music
for
more
than
950
Indian
films
in
various
languages.
His
songs
have
been
enjoyed
by
South
Indian
audience
for
more
than
three
decades.
