We
were
first
to
report
that
Kochadaiyaan
was
not
going
to
make
into
the
ongoing
Cannes
Film
Festival.
The
trailer
of
the
film
was
supposed
to
be
released
at
the
film
festival,
but
the
makers
of
the
film
shelved
their
plans
at
last
minute.
But
why?
This
question
has
been
asked
by
the
fans
of
Rajinikanth,
and
now
we
have
the
answer.
According
to
the
sources,
director
Soundarya
Ashwin
was
not
happy
with
the
trailer.
She
did
not
want
to
release
an
unimpressive
trailer,
which
could
cost
them
dear.
Hence,
they
decided
to
cancel
their
Cannes
plans
and
push
the
trailer
release.
The
source
said,
"We
were
all
set
to
go
to
the
festival,
but
our
director
was
not
happy
with
the
final
output
of
the
trailer.
She
didn't
want
an
unsatisfactory
trailer
to
be
released
at
the
festival
and,
therefore,
opted
out
of
the
festival."
Rajinikanth's
prestigious
project
Kochadaiyaan
created
a
lot
of
buzz
when
it
was
revealed
that
the
trailer
of
the
film
would
be
released
at
the
66th
Cannes
Film
Festival.
It
was
said
that
the
makers
of
the
film
wanted
to
publicise
the
film
at
the
international
level.
"It's
a
big
moment
in
the
history
of
Indian
cinema.
Rajiniji
is
as
excited
as
a
child
about
the
way
Kochadaiyaan
has
turned
out.
Technique-wise
it
takes
Indian
cinema
to
another
level
altogether.
Rajiniji
has
shown
the
rough
cut
of
the
film
to
his
close
friends.
The
other
day
AR
Rahman
saw
the
rough
cut
and
was
blown
away," the
film's
co-producer
Dr
Murli
Manohar
had
announced
in
April
about
their
plans.
Dr
Murli
Manohar
Adds...
He
had
also
claimed,
"He
is
adamant
on
going.
He
has
become
extremely
frail.
But
whenever
anyone
mentions
his
delicate
health
to
Rajiniji
he
gives
the
example
of
Mr
Bachchan
who
has
braved
the
most
serious
illnesses
and
done
exactly
what
he
wanted
and
gone
exactly
where
he
wanted
in
his
career."

Bollywood

Deepika
Padukone,
who
has
played
female
lead
in
Kochadaiyaan,
never
opened
up
on
her
plans
to
visit
to
Cannes.
While
actresses,
who

attending
the
film
festival,
have
been
publicising
their
visit,
the
actress
was
tight-lipped
about
it.
