Actress Swathi of Colors fame, who debuted in Telugu films with Danger, boosted her career with her performance as the girl who develops a crush on Venkatesh in Adavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule (AMAV). Her Tamil debut, Subramanyapuram (also spelt as Subramaniapuram), was declared a sleeper hit and her performance as a lovestruck small-town girl has been praised too.
Now, she"s got the chance to play heroine in Ashta Chamma. Swathi acts as Mahesh Babu"s diehard fan and dreams of marrying him or going on a date with him at least once. The climax revolves around whether the heroine realizes her wish of marrying or even meeting Mahesh Babu in the flesh.
Directed by Indraganti Mohan Krishna, this flick has been conceptualized as a mass entertainer. Insiders say that though the director wanted Mahesh Babu to appear in the film in a cameo, due to various reasons, this didn"t happen.
The film has almost completed shooting and the release date has been set for August 26th.
