Actor and wrestler Nathan Jones, who was last seen in Mad Max:Fury Road, was approached for Nandamuri Balakrishna's 100th film Gautamiputra Satakarni, which is currently on the floors in Georgia.
"Although we approached him for an important role, things didn't pan out the way we'd expected. Hence, we couldn't rope him in," producer Y. Rajeev Reddy revealed, putting the reports that confirmed the actor's role in the film, to rest.
Jones has already been part of Tamil film Bhooloham, and is playing the antagonist in Tiger Shroff's upcoming film, A Flying Jatt.
Nathan was rumoured to be playing the chief of the Greeks in the battle with Satavahanas, headed by Balakrishna. Having already completed two battle sequences in Morocco and Hyderabad respectively, the makers are currently filming the climax battle scene in Georgia.
This schedule features over 1000 junior artists as soldiers, 300 horses and 20 chariots. Also starring Shriya Saran, Kabir Bedi and Hema Malini, the film has music by Devi Sri Prasad.
