Adipurush

Adipurush is an epic mythological 3D movie directed by Tanhaji fame Om Raut in the genre of action-adventurous fantasy. The film was shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu as a bilingual production and will be dubbed in Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. Om Raut also wrote the story and the screenplay, while Manoj Muntashir wrote the dialogue for this movie. The 7000-year-old epic "Ramayana" has been portrayed by Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan in the film, which has the highest budget of any Indian production to date at 500 crore. In addition to Devdutta Nage and Sunny Singh Nijjar, who played Bajrang and Lakshmana, respectively, this movie also featured Vatsal Sheth, Angad Bedi, and Krishna Kotian in pivotal roles. The film's cinematography was handled by Karthik Palani, and its editing was finalised by Ashish Mhatre and Apurva Motiwale. The soundtracks and background score for this movie were composed by Ankit Balhara, Sanchit Balhara, Ajay Gogavale, and Atul Gogavale, while Manoj Muntashir authored the lyrics for the songs. Under the banners of T-Series Films and Retrophiles, this movie was produced by the filmmaker Om Raut along with Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Rajesh Nair, and Prasad Sutar. Filming: Adipurush's motion capture shoot started on January 19, 2021, and the movie's pooja, principal production, and official debut took place in Mumbai, India, on February 2021. After several days and nights of shooting, the CGI and editing work got underway in November. The first trailer for the movie debuted on May 9th, 2023, and a second, action-packed trailer debuted on June 6th, 2023. Storyline The central theme of the Adipurush story is the determination of Lord Ramar to eradicate injustice, which is told in the narrative style of the Ramayana. Up until Raavanan kidnapped Sita and asked her to marry him, Ram and Sita resided at Ayothi in calm and peace. When Ram heard of this, he continued upholding ethics and morality to save his wife Sita from the most dangerous 10-headed beast. Hanumaan has enormous power; thus, he smashes everything and enters Asura King Place, Lanka. Ram got word from Sri Hanuman about the goddess's trouble, and Ram quickly made the decision to declare war on Sri Lanka. Even young children in India are familiar with the tale of Ram saving Sita from Ravan with the aid of Sri Hanuman, but Adipurush has attempted to use the content to display it in front of our eyes with high-graphic technology. Casting information for Adipurush Leads The actors announced in September 2020 that Prabhas was portraying the Hindu god Rama , whose character moniker was finally revealed to be Raghava. Saif Ali Khan , who previously played a villain in Raut's Tanhaji, has been cast in the character of Lankesh, Ravana . In November 2020, it came to light that Kriti Sanon was officially hired to play the character of Sita , despite reports that Anushka Shetty, Anushka Sharma, Kiara Advani, and Keerthy Suresh had been approached for the role. Controversy Kathmandu Mayor's Secretariat has announced that Indian movies will not be screened in the city from Monday. This comes after a controversy erupted over a dialogue in 'Adipurush' that called Janaki "India's daughter". Production  The film was officially announced on 18 August 2020 through a promotional poster. Directed by Om Raut, known for his previous film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (2020). Om Raut was inspired by the 1992 Japanese film Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama and aimed to adapt the Ramayana with modern technology. Prabhas was cast as Lord Rama, and the production company T-Series Films came on board for the project. Adipurush is one of the most expensive Indian films ever made, with an estimated budget of ₹500 crore. Approximately ₹250 crores were allocated for visual effects, and the film was shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu languages, with 3D filming. Marketing The film's teaser was released on 2 October 2022 but faced criticism for its visual effects and CGI. The trailer, released on 9 May 2023, showcased improved visual effects and received a better response. An action trailer was later released on 6 June 2023. Release Date The mythological epic Adipurush was released in theatres on June 16 , 2023.
