Bullet Raja Critics Review

filmibeat.com
Tigmanshu sets things up skillfully in the first hour. Like most of Dhulia's movie, Bullet Raja too boasts of some fiery and impactful dialogues, bringing a vital spark in the movie, that flows so effortlessly. Bullet Raja might not be Dhulia's finest work, but this one is worth one time watch. On the whole, apart from Dulia's midas touch, Bullet Raja works big time due to Saif's power-pack performance.

Let’s get straight to the point here. Bullett Raja doesn’t have the same substance that you have seen in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s earlier films. Anybody expecting powerful products like Paan Singh Tomar or Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster will be hugely disappointed. Music is also a major drawback of the film. Not just the film has been overloaded with boring songs, but they also come at the wrong times. Despite all these weaknesses, Bullett Raja is not that bad a film. In fact, last 20 minutes are engrossing. You can watch Bullet Raja if you have nothing special to do this weekend.

It's not over-the-top like Dabangg. It's not puerile like Rowdy Rathore. Saif Ali Khan has no gimmicky lines like aata majhi satkali in Singham. Bullet Raja attempts to reach out to large numbers just like the above mentioned 100-crore earners. Bullet Raja's slogan claims "aayenge toh garmi badyaenge." To the film's credit it delivers what it promises.
TOI
Straight up, Bullett Raja (BR) is zany and funny, an Uttar Pradesh take on Sholay's Jai and Veeru, 'twice-born' in Lucknow as Raja Mishra (Khan) and Rudra Pratap (Shergill). Bullett Raja is a racy ride, cynical, yet sweet, dark, yet bright. Go watch - you'll enjoy those bangs in the dark. Note: You may not like this film if you avoid violent political tales.
BollywoodHungama
BULLETT RAJA talks of a commoner who revolts against the very system he once devotedly followed. This is Tigmanshu's take on camaraderie, matters of the heart and sacrifice. On the whole, BULLETT RAJA is Tigmanshu Dhulia's most 'commercial', mass appealing film thus far. One more superior endeavor after the immeasurably acknowledged PAAN SINGH TOMAR and the vastly admired SAHEB BIWI AUR GANGSTER franchise, all of which belong to completely diverse genres of cinema. Enjoyable, engaging and extremely distinctive, BULLETT RAJA is not to be missed!
