A Vinoth Kumar is an Indian film director who predominantly works in Kollywood cine industry. He began his directorial debuted with Vishal's 32nd film, Laththi, a bilingual film that was slated to be released in Telugu as Laatti.

Vinoth Kumar was up in a typical mid- family and decided as a grownup that he intended to pursue a future in filmmaking. He served as an assistant director for filmmakers Nandha and Ramana, who also produced his maiden film through their own production house.

He used to read a lot of novels before Pon Parthiban offered him the Laththi plot, and he made the decision that his kind of movie ought to be a people-related one by gathering information and happenings from passing bystanders.
