Born on February 27, 1943, in Bookanakere, a village nestled in Mandya district, Karnataka, B. S. Yediyurappa hails from the influential Lingayat community, wielding considerable political sway in the state. He is wedded to Mythra Devi, and together they have been blessed with five children, comprising two sons and three daughters.

Education:

Yediyurappa obtained his Bachelor of Arts (B.A) degree from Government Arts College in Mandya, Karnataka. His formative education transpired in his hometown of Bookanakere before he pursued further studies in Bangalore.

Political Career:

Yediyurappa embarked on his political journey in the 1970s when he aligned with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the ideological foundation of the BJP. Starting with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he swiftly ascended the ranks, leveraging his organizational acumen and leadership prowess. Over the years, Yediyurappa has secured multiple mandates as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), representing various constituencies across Karnataka. Despite facing corruption charges leading to his resignation as Karnataka's Chief Minister in 2007, he was subsequently exonerated.
