Darshana Rajendran

Darshana Rajendran is an actress and singer who mainly works in Malayalam and Tamil film industries. She is a prominent actress in Malayalam who is known for her best films like Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey, Hridayam, C U Soon, Aanum Pennum, and Mayanadhi. Dharshana made her debut in Malayalam Cinema with the film John Paul Vaathil Thurakkunnu in 2014.  She became prominent among audiences through her role in Mayanadhi directed by Aashiq Abu.

Personal Life

She completed her graduation from the Lady Shri Ram College in  Delhi and pursue a master's degree in financial economics from the University of London. Later she worked in a business school, located in Chennai for a few months. Then she quit her job to pursue acting.

Career Life

Darshana Rajendran stepped into the film industry as a supporting artist in 2014.  She made her first debut in Malayalam with the  John Paul Vaathil Thurakkunnu directed by Chandra Hassan. Later she acted in the film 'Mayanadhi' directed by Aashiq Abu in  2017. The film was a super hit and the actress gained recognition through her role in the film. In 2019, the actress plays Anjali Vasudevan in the film Virus. Like an investigative thriller directed by Aashiq Abu, the film has received much critical appreciation from critics and audiences alike. In the same year, the film won Best Indian Feature Film Award at Jagran Film Festival in Mumbai. Later she became part of successful films like Koode, Vijay Superum Pournamiyum, and C U Soon.

Apart from acting in Malayalam, Darshana also acted in Tamil movies such as Kavan and Irumbu Thirai. In 2021, the actress became prominent among people by playing lead roles in the films such as Irul,Aanum Pennum and Dear Friend .

After then, In 2022 she again surprised the audiences by playing a lead role along with Pranav Mohanlal and Kalyani Priyadarshan in the film 'Hridayam'. The film was directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, best known for the 2012 blockbuster Thattathin Marayathu. Like a romantic drama, the film became successful and earned close to Rs 50 crore at the box office worldwide.

The success of Hridayam, the actress was last seen in the female-centric film Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey'written and directed by Vipin Das.

Apart from being an actor, Dharashana is also a prominent singer. She has sung two super hit songs for the films  such as Mayanadhi and Hridayam.
