Biography

Jayasurya is an actor, producer and comedian in the Malayalam Film Industry. He is one of the finest and most successful actors in the industry by showcasing his outstanding performances in the films like   Lukka Chuppi, Iyobinte Pusthakam, Captain and Su.. Su… Sudhi Vathmeekam. He has acted in more than 100 Malayalam movies in his career life. Personal Life After completing his graduation, he started his acting career as a Mimicry artist. Jayasurya and Saritha married in  2004 and the couple have two children, a son Adwaith and a daughter Veda. Career Life Jayasurya began his film career in 2001. Initially, he attended several stage shows and performances as a mimicry artist and hosted many TV programs in Malayalam. Later, he made his first debut in the film 'Dosth' as a junior artist. But the actor got noticed for his performance in the film 'Oomappenninu Uriyadappayyan' directed by Vinayan in 2002. After then, he plays romantic and comic-centric -roles in the films like  Pulival Kalyanam, Swapnakkoodu, Chocolate,  Chathikkatha Chanthu. Classmates is one of the best-campus films made in Malayalam and the actor has grabbed the audience's attention by playing the antagonist role in the film. The film was a super hit and collected 25crores  from the box office. With astonishing acting prowess, the actor plays vital roles in the films such as Beautiful, Trivandrum Lodge and Husbands in Goa in 2012. He has received critical appreciation and accolades for his stellar performance in the film Beautiful.  Later, the actor appeared in the film ' Iyobintea Pusthakam' directed by Amal Neerad in 2014. With his faultless performance of a villain, the actor delivered his best act  with this film. Jayasurya is prominent for showcasing his versatility while acting on screen. His stunning performances always surprised the audience at every time. He is one of the actors, who showcased his interest in breaking stereotype roles in films.  The actor is also known for his outstanding performance in the films like Su, Sudhi  Vathmeekam, Vellam ,Njan  Markutty and Captian. He is an established and successful actor in the industry and has acted in more than 100 films in Malayalam and has also acted in  Tamil and Telugu film Industries. And also won several awards and critical appreciation for his incredible contribution to the film industry.  He won the Kerala State Film Awards in 2019 and 2021. Singer and Producer Besides acting, the actor turned out to be a singer and producer in Malayalam Film Industry. He has sung songs for the films like Immini Nalloraal, Ormathalukal, Punylan Agarbattis, and Film Happy Journey.   Jayasurya and Director Ranjith Shankar launched their production named 'Punyalan Cinemas'in 2017. They produced the first movie Punyalan Agabathis in that year. Awards In the year 2016, the actor was conferred with Special Jury Award at 46th Kerala State Filmfare Awards as well as a Special Mention at 63rd National Filmfare Awards for his incredible acting in the movies Lukka Chuppi and Su.. Su… Sudhi Vathmeekam.  After then, In 2019  he received Kerala State Filmfare Award for Best Actor for Njan Marykutty and Captain together with Soubin Shahir. In 2021, he won the Asian Competition Best Actor award for his performance in 'Sunny'  at the Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh.
