Kani Kusruti is a well-known Indian actress and model, primarily active in the Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi film industries. She gained significant acclaim for her role in the critically praised 2020 Malayalam film 'Biriyaani'. Her impressive filmography also includes notable Malayalam films such as Nagendran's Honeymoons, Vazhakku, Kerala Cafe, and Vichithram. In addition to her work in Malayalam cinema, Kani has also made her mark in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi films. Early Life Born in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, Kani Kusruti is the daughter of notable social activists Jayasree A. K. and Maitreya Maitreyan. Her foray into the performing arts began in 11th grade at Government Girls' HSS, Pattom, where she joined the drama troupe Abhinaya. This initial involvement sparked her passion for acting and laid the foundation for her future career. After completing her higher secondary education, Kani briefly attended Government Sanskrit College but soon realized her true passion lay in the performing arts, prompting her to leave the college and explore other opportunities. Career Life After completing her theater education abroad, Kani Kusruti made a notable film debut with the short film Island Express, featured in the anthology movie Kerala Café.
