Nivin Pauly

Nivin Pauly is an Indian actor and producer who is prominent in Malayalam Film Industry. He is also known for romantic and action roles in his films like Premam, Neram,Thattathin Marayathu, Oam Shanthi Oshaana and Oru Vadakkan Selfie.

Personal Life

Born on 11th October 1984 to Pauly Bonaventure and Thressiamma in Aluva, Ernakulam. Nivin, is Engineering Graduate from the Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT). Before coming to the film industry, he worked as a Software Engineer at Infosys for a couple of years. He resigned the job after his father's death.
 
In 2010,theactor married his girlfriend  Rinna Joy and the couple has two children,a son Daveed Pauly and a daughter Rose Treesa Nivin Pauly .It was wa a  major success in that year and Nivin Pauly received critical acclaim for his role as Vinod in the film.

Career Life

Nivin Pauly made his first debut with 'Malarvadi Arts Club' in 2010.The movie was directed Vineeth Srinivasan, and it also marks his debut directorial.Later, he appeared in movies such as The Metro, Sevenes, Traffic and Spanish Masala.In 2012, the actor starred in the romantic movie titled'Thattathin Marayathu',which is directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan.It was a major success ,and  the actor became prominent among Malayalm film Industry

The actor made hisfirst debutt in the  Tamil film industry with the movie 'Neram'which was directed by Alphose Puthran in 2013. In this film, Nivin pauly shared his screen space with actress Nazriya Nazeem. Since there, he has acted in box office hit movies like 1983(2014), Ohm Shanthi Oshaana(2014) and Banglore Days(2014).In 2015, Nivin pauly won State Film Award for Best Actor for'1983'.Nivin Pauly gained appreciation for his incredible performance in this movie.

By doing romantic and action movies, Nivin Pauly became one of the most successful young actor in Malayalam Film Industry.Premam, a romantic comedy film, which is regarded as one of the best-ever made romantic films in Malayalam.The film was directed by Alphonse Puthren and featured by Stars Nivin Pauly, MadonnaSebastiann, Anupama Parameswara,n and Sai Pallavi. The actor always surprised the audience with versatile roles in his films like Action Hero Biju(2016),Jacobinte Swargarajayam(2016), Saghavu(2017), Moothon(2019), Love Action Drama(2019) and Mikhael. Nivin Pauly won the best actor award at the New York Indian Film Festival for his notable performance in this movie.

Apart from being an  actor, Nivin Pauly has launched his production house named'Pauly Jr.Pictures'.The films like Kanakam Kamini Kalaham, Action Hero Biju and Njandukaludea Nattil Oridavela were produced under this company.

The actor will next be seen collaborating with Sai Pallavi in an upcoming project. It will mark the reunion of this combo after 'Premam'. The official details about the project will be revealed soon. 

Awards and Recognition

Nivin Pauly has received many accolades and awards for his remarkable contribution to the industry. He has won two Kerala State Awards for films like Bangalore Days and 1983. In 2020, he won the Best Actor award at the New York Film Festival for his role in the film Moothon.

Me Too Allegations Against Actor
In September 2024, a woman accused actor Nivin Pauly and five others of sexual assault, which Pauly, 40, immediately denied, asserting he had no connection with the complainant. He swiftly filed a complaint with the State Police Chief, calling the allegations 'baseless' and pledging to defend his reputation. Pauly's case drew public attention following the August release of the Justice Hema Committee report on exploitation in the Malayalam film industry. In November 2024, Pauly was officially cleared of all charges, with the investigating officer filing a report in Kothamangalam court to remove him as an accused.

Legal Disputes and Controversies
On July 17, 2025, a case was filed against actor Nivin Pauly and director Abrid Shine for alleged financial fraud. PS Shamnas, co-producer of Mahaveeryar, accused the duo of cheating him of ₹1.9 crore after promising a partnership in Action Hero Biju 2. Despite the film being registered under Shamnas’ company, Nivin and Shine allegedly made a ₹5 crore deal with a Dubai firm using a different contract, leading to charges under IPC Sections 406 and 420.
