Rakesh Poojary was a beloved Kannada and Tulu actor, comedian, and television personality, best known for winning Season 3 of the popular reality show Comedy Khiladigalu. Born in Karkala, Udupi district, Karnataka, he began his artistic journey with the Chaitanya Kalavidaru theatre troupe and gained early recognition through the Tulu reality show Kadale Bajil in 2014. Despite facing numerous rejections—reportedly over 150 auditions—his perseverance led him to success in television and film.
He appeared in Kannada serials like Hitler Kalyana and acted in films such as Pailwan, Itu Entha Lokavayya, and Tulu movies like Petkammi and Ammer Police.
Tragically, Rakesh passed away at the age of 33 on May 11, 2025, after suffering a heart attack during a friend's mehendi ceremony in Nitte, Karkala taluk, Udupi district. He had just completed shooting his part for Kantara: Chapter 1 earlier that day. His sudden demise shocked fans and colleagues alike, with many sharing heartfelt tributes on social media. Rakesh's legacy endures through his memorable performances and the joy he brought to audiences.
