Selvaraghavan

Selvaraghavan is a film director from South India who was born to Tamil film director Kasthuri Raja on June 6, 1976. His elder brother is actor Dhanush, and he also has two sisters, who are both doctors. Selvaraghavan and actress Sonia Agarwal fell in love and got married on December 15, 2006. On August 9, 2009, Sonia and Selva filed for divorce on a mutual consent basis. On March 12th, 2010, i.e., after a span of 6 months, the couple was granted divorce. Later, Selva got married to Geetanjali Raman on July 3, 2011. Geetanjali was his associate at Erandam Ulagam.

Career

He shot to fame with his debut venture, Thulluvadho Ilamai, a movie about adolescent gags and teenage capers. His next film, Kadhal Kondein, was a box office and critical success.Most of the Tamil film industry's leading directors and critics praised his directing abilities.

Selvaraghavan, who started directing films after doing his BE in Mechanical Engineering, relies on the internet and books for his story ideas. He loves doing horror films and admits that he likes to scare people. His favourite directors are Oliver Stone and Francis Ford Coppola, and the hero he'd like to direct is Robert de Niro. He loves reading, mostly Wilbur Smith. He considers that his strength lies in writing a good screenplay.

He directed the movie Pudupettai with his brother Dhanush, which was an average hit. He did a Telugu movie with Venkatesh, which also had a good run at the box office. After three years, he released Aayirathil Oruvan, a fantasy film. He did research on the story plot and took more time to make this movie. It also gained huge applause from the critics and audiences.
