Sudeep is an Indian actor, director, producer, singer, and television host who works primarily in Kannada cinema. Sudeep's father Sanjeev, is a hotelier turned film producer. His father played a supporting actor role in his first film, Thayava.
Early life
Sudeep, born on September 2, 1971, to Sanjeev Manjappa and Saroja in Shimoga, Karnataka, hails from a family that originally migrated from Narasimharajapura in the Chikmagalur district. He earned a bachelor's degree in Industrial and Production Engineering from Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering in Bangalore, where he also represented his college in under-17 cricket. Sudeep later attended the Roshan Taneja School of Acting in Mumbai, where he worked on overcoming his shyness and prepared for his acting career. Sudeep's mother, Saroja Sanjeev, who had been battling age-related ailments, passed away at a private hospital in Bangalore on October 20, 2024.
CareerSudeep acted in a TV serial before he went on to act in films. Titled Premada Kadambari and directed by Sudhakar Bhandari, it was aired on Udaya TV. His first movie was Thayavva, where he played the role of supporting actor Kadambari.
