Yagna Shetty is an Indian multilingual actress and model who predominantly worked in Kannada cinema besides Telugu and Tamil films in lead roles.
Early life
Yagna Shetty was born to Umesh Shetty and Jayanti Shetty and brought up in a Tuluva community in Kudremukh, Karnataka. She completed her schooling at the Kendriya School in Panambur, Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) course at the SDM College in Mangalore and later pursued Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance at the Manipal University.
Career
Yagna made her acting debut in the 2007 Kannada film Ondu Preethiya Kathe. In 2009, she starred in two films, Eddelu Manjunatha and Love Guru, and received critical acclaim for her performances in both the films. For her portrayal of Gowri in the comedy film Eddelu Manjunatha, the wife of Manjunatha (played by Jaggesh), a hard working woman struggling to make ends meet, she received the Filmfare Special Award.
Ram Gopal Varma casted her in Killing Veerappan as Muthulakshmi, the wife of slain forest brigand, Veerappan and also casted her in most controversial movie of RGV's Lakshmi's NTR in which she played the title role.
