Landlord Story
Landlord is a Kannada action drama movie directed by Jadesh Kumar Hampe. The movie stars Duniya Vijay, Raj B Shetty, Rachita Ram, Shishir Baikady, and Rithnya Vijay in the main lead roles, along with Achyuth Kumar, Umashri, Mithra, Rakesh Adiga, Abhishek Das, and many others in supporting roles. The music was composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, while the cinematography was done by Swamy J Gowda and it is edited by KM Prakash. The film is produced by K.S.Suraj Gowda and K.V.Sathyaprakash under Sri Araveshwari Cine Production banner.
Story
Rachayya (Vijay), once a resident of Ramadurga, is now a daily wage laborer in Hulidurga. His only dream is to own and cultivate two acres of land and lead a dignified life. He is willing to go to any extent to achieve this. However, Hulidurga’s powerful landlord Chikkejamanru (Raj B. Shetty) stands firmly in his way. In the village, Chikkejamanru’s word is law and his authority unquestioned. He is a ruthless, beast-like man who crushes anyone who dares to oppose him. He strongly believes that if laborers start owning land and farming on their own, the value of landlords will vanish—workers must remain workers, forever bowing at the feet of their masters.
In Hulidurga, everything happens according to Chikkejamanru’s will. Though the village has a police station in name, justice and governance are completely under his control. The story takes a turn when Rachayya’s daughter Bhagya (Rithanya) joins the same police station as a constable. Together, father and daughter rise against Chikkejamanru’s reign of oppression, determined to end his feudal dominance and enforce equality through the Constitution. They demonstrate the true power of law. In the process, Rachayya is once again forced to take up arms. What follows next forms the rest of the story.
