Balyakalasakhi is a romantic tragedy movie directed by debutant Pramod Payyannur.

Story In Details:

Balyakalasakhi movie is completely adapted from acclaimed Malayalam romantic tragedy novel "Balyakalasakhi" written by renowned writer Vaikom Muhammad Basheer. Published in 1944, it is considered by many as Basheer's best work. The story revolves around Majeed and Suhra, who are in love with each other from childhood.

Mammootty portray's the role of Majeed and that of his father in the film, whereas Isha Talwar plays the role of Suhara. In 1967, a film adaptation starring Prem Nazir as Majeed and Sheela as Suhara had been launched by Sasikumar. Basheer had written the script and dialogues of the film.

Soundtrack:

Megastar Mammootty officially launched and handover the Audio Cd's of Balyakalasakhi to Raghavan Master's family. Movie consist of six songs and four Karaoke versions.

The acclaimed soundtrack of this movie was composed by Music Maestro Raghavan Master and Shahabaz Aman, for which the acclaimed lyrics were penned by P Bhaskaran master, Kavalam Narayanappanikkar, KT Muhammed and Sreekumaran Thambi. All the songs of the movie were instant hits expecially Thamarappoomakavanathil song sung by Dr K j Yesudas.
