Thudarum Story

Thudarum is a Malayalam family-comedy movie directed by Tharun Moorthy and featuring Mohanlal in the lead role.

The script is written by Tharun Moorthy and KR Sunil, with M. Ranjith producing the film. The storyline brings together familiar faces, notably Mohanlal and Shobana, who last shared the screen in Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded (2009), sparking excitement among fans eager to see their beloved duo reunite.

This marks Mohanlal’s first collaboration with Tharun Moorthy, who has already earned acclaim for his previous films since debuting as a director in 2021. The film features Shajikumar as the cinematographer, capturing vibrant visuals, while Nishad Yusuf and Shafeeq V. B. handle the editing, ensuring a tight, well-paced narrative. The music for Thudarum is composed by Jakes Bejoy, adding another layer of depth to the film’s emotional and comedic moments.

Plot
The story follows a taxi driver who lives a peaceful family life in a quiet hillside town. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when a series of unsettling events linked to his car pulls him into a whirlwind of chaos and tyranny, ultimately threatening the safety and wellbeing of his family. What once was a life of calm routine slowly unravels as strange encounters, unseen dangers, and growing suspicion surround him. The car, once a source of livelihood, becomes a symbol of his entrapment, drawing him deeper into a world where trust is fragile and fear looms large. As tensions escalate, he is forced to confront forces far beyond his understanding, fighting desperately to protect the very family that once gave meaning to his simple, contented existence.

Box Office Collection 

Breaking records yet again, Mohanlal’s Thudarum, directed by Tharun Moorthy, has soared past ₹200 crore in global box office earnings within only 17 days! After the massive success of L2: Empuraan, released just before Eid on March 27, this is Mohanlal’s second film to join the ₹200 crore club. Thudarum now proudly holds the position of the third-highest-grossing Malayalam film ever, behind Manjummel Boys and L2: Empuraan.
