Thimiru Pudichavan is an bilingual action genre movie, directed by Ganesha of Nambiar fame. The movie cast includes Vijay Antony and Nivetha Pethuraj in the lead roles. Story In Detail Vijay Anthony as the strict, eccentric and honest cop works for his department on the lines of integrity and cracks at many current happenings such as juvenile crimes and takes on the antagonists. He is not only on a mission to set things right in his area, but also inspires fellow cops as to how an ideal cop should be. He is seen getting into the action of cleaning the city from criminals and even drainage and thus, setting an example. Vijay Antony compose music for the movie, while Richard M Nath hand the camera. Recently Nivetha posted a video of her riding a Royal Enfield bicycle on Social Media and media say that she learned for the movie for her character. Vijay Anthony has yet again rendered another decent and adequate performance in line with the script requirement. He knows his pros and cons as an actor and has just balanced the line without going overboard nor undermining himself. Director Ganesh, an associate of SS Rajamouli once upon a time, has come out with a convincing package. The first half is gripping and entertaining, while the second half retains the interest held by the first half. Thimiru Pudichavan is a simple, straightforward and a no-logic entertainer.

Director Ganeshaa has opted for the mass route to attract the 'B' and 'C' center audiences. Besides the gallery pleasing angle, the film also conveys an important message on how youngsters under eighteen are not punished which in turn pushes them into the underworld. Verdict: Loud mass entertainer with an important message

The only good thing about the film is, it has a role for a transgender person in a dignified way. Despite the pressing situation, her character doesn’t wallow in self-pity but stands up and conveys something important to the society. It’s high time Vijay Antony stopped “experimenting” with “mass-y films” and stuck to solid content-driven films like Naan, Salim and Pichchaikaran.

Vijay Antony has carved a niche for himself playing psychologically flawed characters. In recent films, he deviated into the normal which did not pay him dividends. In 'Thimiru Puduchava' one should say Vijay Antony has come back with a bang. Vijay Antony's background score, as usual, is top notch while his usual hit song is not found in this album. Vijay Antony could have paced the film better with his editing which leaves a lot to be desired. Verdict : Go for the novel plot, strong message and the performances of Vijay Antony and Nivetha Pethuraj.

Thimiru Pudichavan is a routine cat-and-mouse game between a brainy cop who also flexes muscles and a dreaded criminal. Like every other cop, Murugavel, too, advises people around him, falls in love with the heroine, tries to change the system and bashes up the baddies (ruthlessly and unbelievably). The film does have a few engaging moments in the second half and a message for youngsters, but tests one’s patience with too many logical loopholes.
