Jude Anthany Joseph's '2018:Every One Is Hero' is the highest grossing Malayalam movies of all time at the global box-office. Like a complete survival drama, it narrates the story on 2018 Kerala floods. The multi-starrer film has became the first Malayalam movie which had collected Rs 169 crores globally after the release on the 25 days. It is the third Malayalam movie entered into 100 crore club after Malikappuram and Romancham.
The 2016 release 'Pulimurugan' is the first Malayalam film cross the 100 crore mark at the box-office. Directed by Vyshakan, it featured actor Mohanlal in the lead role. According to reports, Pulimurugan had collected Rs 135 crores at the world wide box-office while Tovino Thomas' 2018' broken the records of the film in just 17 days.
Jeethu Jospeh's Drishyam is one of the best-thriller movies ever made in the Malayalam cinema. The film was released in 2013 and had collected Rs 60 crores in Kerala alone. Made up on a small-budget, the film broken the records of several big star movies in Malayalam.

Shaji Kailas' 'Narasimham' is one of the best action thriller movies in Malayalam cinema. Written by Renjith, the film marked the second collaboration of actor Mohanlal and Shaji Kailas. Previously they had been worked for the movie 'Aaraam Thampuraan'. According to reports, Narsimham released in 2000 and it was the first Malayalam movie which had collected Rs 20 crores at the box-office.
