DBoss Darshan made his lead role debut through Majestic film in which he played the role of a gangster named called Daasa and it directed by PN Satya. Darshan's performance both as a lover boy and gangster was highly appreciated by both critics as well as the audience. 

After Majestic Darshan once again chose the underworld gangster script and joined hands with blockbuster director Prem. Kariya's movie deals with a gangster who falls in love with a rich background girl but he never expresses his love with her. The realistic approach in the story and screenplay was a major highlight. Songs were a huge plus for the film and they boosted the theatrical experience. Kariya re-released in theaters so many times but still, it gets very reception whenever it gets re-released.

After the blockbuster success of Majestic film both Darshan and director PN Satya made yet another gangster film with a strong mother sentiment backdrop film Daasa. Darshan shined in both the roles of college student and gangster. Mother sentiment worked really well throughout the film and it connected well with the audience.
