Top 10 Box-office Hit Malayalam Movies Remade In Hindi

Film maker Mathukutty Xavier's 'Mili' is the remade of his own Malayalam film 'Helen'. Like a complete survival drama, it tells the story of a young girl who trapped in cold storage. From eating raw food, to attempting to make a fire, to trying to turn the cooling fans off, she tries everything she can and even befriends a mouse for company when she feels lonely. The film is a fuss free ,thrilling and make curious among audience. 

Tovino Thomas starrer 'Forensic' is a psychological -thriller movie, released in theaters in 2020 and had received positive responses from audience. Directed by Akhil Paul and Anas Khan, it later remade in Hindi with same title. Vikrant Massey essayed the role of a meticulous forensic officer, portrayed by Tovino Thomas in the original version of film. 

Drishyam, is the official remake of the Malayalam super hit movie of the same title with actor Mohanlal in the lead role. The movie directed by Jeethu Joseph, it narrates the story of a man who struggles to hide a crime to protect his family. Starring Mohanlal, Meena, Asha Sharath and Roshan Basheer in the lead role, the film had received excellent responses from the audience as well as critics. Made up on a total of  five crores budget, the film had collected Rs 50 crores at the box-office. 

Salman Khan starrer 'Bodyguard' is the remake of 2010 Malayalam film with the same title. I t also marked the directorial debut of Malayalam film maker Siddique in Hindi Cinema. The film was well-received at the box-office in both Malayalam and Hindi languages.

Priyadarshan's Billu Barber is a remake of the Malayalam film ‘Kadha Parayumbol’. The film was directed by M.Mohanan featured Mammootty and Sreenivasan in the lead roles.  Late actor Irfan Khan who played the role essayed by Sreenivasan in the original. The film was much-appreciated in Malayalam but in Hindi , it failed to impress the audience attention. 

The film 'Manichitrathzahu's is one of the best psychological thriller dramas ever made in Malayalam. Starring Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi and Shobhana in the prominent roles, which was directed by Film maker Fazil in the year 1993. After longtime wait, the film was remade in Hindi by Priyadarshan. Titled as ' Bhool Bhulaiyaa', the film was emerged as superhit movie at the box-office. 

Ajay Devgn starred 'Golmaal' directed by Rohit Shetty is a remake of Priyadarshan's Malayalam film ' Kakkakuyil'. Released in 2010 'Kakkukuyil' is a comedy drama starring Mohanlal and Mukesh and the film does not leave the audience laughing out loud. 

The  Malayalam comedy-thriller movie 'Punjabi House'  remade in Hindi with the title 'Chup Chup Ke'. The film was directed by Priyadarshan narrates the story of a young man who attempts suicide by jumping into the sea and decides to lead a new life by pretending deaf and mute after getting rescued by two men.

Boeing Boeing is one of the cult-classic comedy drama ever made in Malayalam. The film is also considered as one of the best movies of Priyadarshan-Mohanlal combination. In 2005, the film was remade in Hindi by Priyadarshan with the title 'Garam Masala' and declared as a block-buster hit movie. 

The film 'Ramji Rao Speaking' is a cult-classsic comedy-thriller Malayalam movie directed by debutant director duo, Siddique-Lal. Ramji Rao Speaking released in theaters and starred Mukesh, Innocent and Sai Kumar in the lead roles. After few years later, In 2000, Priyadarshan directed the movie in Hindi 'Hera Pheri' and  starred Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Suniel Shetty and Tabu in the key roles.
