It's been over a decade since Jiah Khan passed away. The actress was found dead in her Mumbai flat in June 2013 and it had sent a wave of shock and grief across the industry. In fact, Jiah's boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi was accused of abetment to suicide and the case went on to make headlines for years.

And now, after a decade of speculation, the verdict is finally out in Jiah Khan's death case. As per the fresh update, Sooraj Pancholi has been acquitted by the Special CBI court. Talking about it, Judge AS Sayyed of the special CBI court said, "Due to paucity of evidence, this court can't hold you (Sooraj Pancholi) guilty, hence acquitted".

Needless to say, this verdict has left everyone brimming with an opinion. And now, Jiah Khan's mother has reacted to Sooraj Pancholi's acquittal. Talking to the media, "Main ek baat kahungi, aaj abetment to suicide eradicate hua hai, lekin the question mark is how did my child die? So, the cause of death is still pending. Maine shuru se kaha hai this is a case of murder and now, the abetment to suicide is gone, the murder still is hanging. This is a case of murder...will approach the high court".

For the uninitiated, Jiah had breathed her last on June 3, 2013, and a six-page letter was also received from her residence. Later Sooraj Pancholi was arrested by the cops and was released on bail after spending around 22 days in prison. It was in 2014, Jiah Khan's death case was transferred to CBI and the authority had termed the case as an abetment to suicide in a chargesheet submitted before the court. While the court accused Sooraj Pancholi of abetment to suicide, he denied the charges.
