Double dhamaka for Adaminte Makan Abu

It is really a double dhamaka for the movie Adaminte Makan Abu. The Malayalam film has bagged several National and State Film Awards even before its release in Kerala. The Salim Ahamad-directed film has been adjudged Best Film in both National and State levels, while Salim Kumar has bagged Best actor Award in both the levels.

Adaminte Makan Abu is all about humanist values freeing matters of faith from the constrictions of narrow parochialism. The story of the film is about a dream of Abu, who is an old vendor selling Yunani medicines. The movie chronicles the difficulties that he encounters on his holy pilgrimage to Mecca.

The movie, which has the story of Salim Ahamad, has become one among the top Indian movies of 2011 by winning four National Film Awards. Adaminte Makan Abu has bagged Best Feature Film and Salim Kumar walked away with Best Actor Award for his acting in the movie. Madhu Ambat and Isaac Thomas Kottukappilly have got Best Cinematography and Best Background Score Awards respectively.

Adaminte Makan Abu has also managed to get top honours at the Kerala State Film Awards. It has bagged Best Film award, while Salim Ahmed won Best Screenplay award. Salim Kumar has got Best Actor Award and Isaac Thomas Kottukappilly walked away with Best Background Music Award.
