Manju
Warrier
once
again
arrived
at
Thiruvananthapuram
for
an
inauguration.
This
time
it
was
not
a
jewellery
store
that
was
getting
inaugurated,
but
Manju
arrived
to
flag
off
the
She
Taxi!
Manju
flag
off
the
She
Taxi
yesterday,
19
November.
She
Taxi
is
an
all-women
taxi
service
has
been
launched
by
the
Kerala
government
to
ensure
safe
travel
for
women
at
all
hours.
These
24/7
She
Taxi
services
are
driven
and
owned
by
women.
Soon
Thiruvananthapuram
will
see
the
pink
and
white
taxi
driven
all
around
the
city
by
the
women.
She
Taxi,
from
now,
will
ensure
safer
travelling
to
women.
Travelling
late
nights
now
become
an
easy
way
rather
than
a
nightmare
to
most
of
the
women
working
long
distances.
She
Taxis
are
monitored
through
a
GPS
system
and
their
movement
can
be
tracked
by
the
passenger's
guardians
or
friends.
So
far
five
women
have
come
forward
to
run
the
service
initiated
by
Gender
Park
under
the
Department
of
Social
Justice.
The
women
drivers
have
also
been
given
self
defence
training,
and
Thiruvananthapuram's
women
have
welcomed
the
initiative.
The
introduction
of
such
a
service
has
given
relief
to
many.
Manju
Warrier
has
been
appointed
as
the
brand
ambassador
for
the
She
Taxi.
