Manichitrathazhu Sequel To Release Soon

Manichitrathazhu, the all time blockbuster movie, directed by Fazil, will soon have a sequel. The second part of Manichitrathazhu, which has been titled as Nagavalli, will hit the theatres soon.

Interestingly, the dubbed version of Nagavalli, the popular Telugu movie is releasing as Manichitrathazhu sequel in Malayalam. Nagavalli itself is the remake of Kannada movie Aptharakshaka, the sequel of Apthamitra, the Kannada remake of Manichitrathazhu.

Anushka Shetty will play the title role Nagavalli in the movie. Bhagyalakshmi, who has dubbed for Shobana in Manichitrathazhu, will lent her voice for Anushka in the movie. Venkatesh Daggubati essays the lead role in the movie.

Malayali audience has always accepted the dubbed versions of Telugu movies wholeheartedly. Popular Telugu actors, including Allu Arjun, Ramcharan Teja, Anushka Shetty etc has huge fan following among the Malayali audience.

At the same time, the idea of sequels and remakes hasn't gone well with the Malayalam movie industry. Despite some rare sequels like Oru CBI Diary Kurippu series, Ramji Rao Speadking & Mannar Mathai Speaking, Kireedan & Chengol etc, none of the others has tasted success.

Geethanjali, the spin-off of Manichitrathazhu, directed by Priyadasrhan was a critical and commercial disaster. So, the future of the Manichitrathazhu sequel is quite unpredictable in the current scenario of Malayalam movie industry.
