Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is all set to release in Kerala amidst huge fan fare. Here, we take you through other recent films that witnessed a huge hype.
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is all set to take over a large number of theatres in Kerala from April 28, 2017 onwards. Along with the Malayalam dubbed version of this magnum opus, the Tamil, Hindi and Telugu versions will be also releasing in Kerala.
According to the reports that have come in, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, will be released in close to 300 screens across Kerala. The advanced booking for the film started 2 days ago and the tickets were sold out like hot cakes.
Not many movies of the recent times have witnessed such a pre-booking at the Kerala box office. Interestingly, the tickets for the weekend have also been sold out in majority of the centres.
That purely shows the trust that the Kerala audiences have on Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, directed by SS Rajamouli. Meanwhile, we take you through some of the recent movies, which witnessed similar hype at the Kerala BO.
The Great Father (2017)
Mammootty starrer The Great Father was released on March 30, 2017. The film had good hype associated with it and the response for the advance booking was one of the best for a Mammootty movie in the recent times. Reportedly, tickets for the early morning shows on the first day got sold out in no time.
Ezra (2017)
Well, Ezra, featuring Prithviraj in the lead role, is by far one of the biggest opening day grosser of Prithviraj, so far. All thanks to pre-release hype, which resulted in good advance booking that the film received.
Bairavaa (2017)
Much like any other Vijay movie, Bairavaa too released amidst huge fan wave in Kerala. The Vijay starrer managed to get above 200 screens in Kerala alone but the movie failed to capitalize on that and couldn't make it big at Kerala Box Office owing to the negative reviews that it received.
Pulimurugan (2016)
Mohanlal's Pulimurugan, which emerged as the biggest hit in the history of Malayalam cinema, came in with huge hype surrounding it. The film was one of the most expected movies of Mohanlal and the film got released in close to 200 screens and started the big hunt from Day 1 onwards.
Kabali (2016)
Kabali, Rajinikanth's most recent film did witness a similar craze in Kerala. The film was released in 306 screens across Kerala, one of the biggest for an other language movie in Kerala. The advance booking for the film was nothing less than phenomenal and the movie fetched above 4 Crores on its opening day in Kerala.
Well, it is a fact that none of the above movies can be compared to the hype surrounding Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which is all set to conquer new horizons. The film is expected to touch the 5-Crore mark at the Kerala box office on Day 1 itself.
