Puli, despite attracting mixed reviews from both critics and fans, is roaring at the box office. Well, at least in Chennai as the fantasy flick has made a collection of 2.84 crore rupees over its 4 day opening weekend.
The 'Ilayathalapathy' Vijay starrer had more than 465 shows and according to a reliable source, Puli stands third next only to Vikram's I and 'Thala' Ajith's Yennai Arindhaal, when it comes to the highest opener Chennai city has ever seen.
With an average occupancy of 70 percent in Tamil Nadu, it is said that Puli might've grossed a whopping 32 crore rupees from its first four days. Official box office numbers are however awaited.
Since the movie had a huge opening in some of the foreign nations, worldwide box office collections are expected to be decent if not good.
SVR Media, the company which distributed Puli in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, had expressed its delight on its official social media page.
It wrote, "Finally inspite of late release we are blessed with superb openings and full shows in all theatres we thank each and everyone who has been back support for the release. Please Keep watching PULI PULI PULI..... THANX AGAIN...".
