Currently starring Harshad Chopda and Pranali Rathod in the lead roles, YRKKH also featured Jay Soni in the pivotal role of Abhinav.
WAS JAY SONI SCARED TO WORK WITH HARSHAD CHOPDA & PRANALI RATHOD?
While Jay Soni entered Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai at the beginning of 2023, his character finally ended in the family drama in August this year after the death of his character. It's been a few months but his fans still miss seeing him in the top-rated Star Plus show. In a recent interview with Siddharth Kanan, the talented actor opened up about his stint in YRKKH and co-stars Harshad Chopda and Pranali Rathod.
On being asked if he ever had apprehensive thoughts about joining the cast of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai after witnessing the popularity of Harshad and Pranali's characters, Jay Soni said, "Haa bilkul aae the, tabhi na mera ek aur project ke liye baat chal rahi thi. That time I had two options, one was Yeh Rishta and the other one. Both, I wanted to do, mera ye tha ki whatever first comes my way, I'll pick it up. This thing happened and I was a little skeptical ki kaisa, matlab ye wo, fir I had a word with my wife ki I'm a little confused. Toh she said ki yaar if this has come first, just trust god and karle. When I met Rajan sir also, he was like 'Jay, just trust me and do it'. When a person like Rajan sir tells you, you just have to feel that you're in safe hands. Toh maine kaha 'okay, I'll do it.' Maine kuch expect nahi kiya tha, ek hi cheez thi bas I want to be honest with this character and I wanna do my job well."
JAY SONI ON HARSHAD-PRANALI'S POPULARITY AS ABHIMANYU-AKSHARA
He added, "Mujhe honestly pata bhi nahi tha ki inka itna popular jodi hai, baad mei mujhe pata chala. Par ab toh aapne le liya hai risk toh karo perform. Maine first time aisa feel kiya ki mai yaar mai galat toh nahi aa gaya kahi. Matlab, itna unka fan following, maine kaha mai kya karunga beech mei, but maine kaha chalo theek hai, maine kaha bhagwan ko ki dekh lena tum, mai perform kar raha hu baaki apa sambhal lena. So ya, wo thoughts aate hai but at the end, again, I've to run my family, I've to run my house, mai ye sabke bare mei sochta aur aise kaam na uthau, itna bhi nahi soch sakta. Toh maine kaha dekhenge yaar, jo hoga dekha jaega. Bas kaam acha karu, baaki it's okay."
JAY SONI UPCOMING PROJECTS
Despite many obstacles and the popularity of AbhiRa, Jay Soni did a commendable job as Abhinav. On the career front, he'll next be seen in a web show. However, not many details are yet out related to the project and his character in it.
