Jeeva Ravi Biography

Indian actor, casting director, and television performer Jeeva Ravi has appeared in films and on television in Tamil. His roles in the films 3 in 2012 and Jeeva in 2014, the latter of which served as the prefix for his stage name, respectively, marked his breakthrough as an actor.

Ravi is the grandson of film producer G. M. Velumani. Before appearing in serials on STAR Vijay and Sun TV, Ravi first started his career as a recruiting director. He began appearing in movies over time, and his portrayal of Shruti Haasan's dad in Dhanush's movie 3 (2012) was his first significant breakthrough.

He subsequently appeared in more prominent roles in his following ventures before gaining critical acclaim for his portrayal of a cricket coach in Suseenthiran's Jeeva, which was released in 2014. The success of the film meant that he adapted "Jeeva" as a prefix to his name and continued to play pivotal roles as a collector in AR Murugadoss's Kaththi and a commissioner in Kaaki Sattai. He also starred in a movie directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan, Miruthan.
