Background & Education
Based in Mumbai, Kamakshi Bhat hails from Faridabad. She nurtured a love for theatre early on, studying Philosophy at Miranda House (Delhi University) and later earning a Master’s in Mass Communication from Jamia Millia Islamia University.
Training & Theatre
She was deeply involved in theatre and trained under Adishakti Theatre (Puducherry) and Neeraj Kabi’s acting workshop, with ongoing mentorship from Damini Basu of Class Act.
Acting Debut
Kamakshi’s first lead appearance was in a short ad film for Tanishq, directed by Alankrita Shrivastava.
Short Film Recognition
She starred as “Rumi” in the 25-minute silent short film XO, which premiered internationally at the L.A. Shorts International Film Festival and at the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival in October 2023. Her performance earned a Best Actress nomination at the Korean International Film Festival.
Recent & Upcoming Projects
Her latest work includes the feature film CTRL (2024) directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, where she plays Shonali. She also leads in Special Ops Season 2, directed by Neeraj Pandey and Shivam Nair, which is slated to release around July 18, 2025.
