Manoj Santoshi Biography

Manoj Santoshi was a celebrated Indian television writer, lyricist, and occasional actor, known for his exceptional comic timing and contribution to Hindi comedy shows. Originally from Aligarh, he gained national fame for writing hit shows like Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, Jijaji Chhat Par Hai, and Happu Ki Ultan Paltan. His witty dialogues and engaging characters made these shows household favorites.

In addition to writing, he also worked as a lyricist and was involved in films like Aagey Se Right, Overtime, and Care of Footpath 2. He was known for promoting new talent and always welcomed aspiring artists from smaller towns.



Manoj Santoshi passed away on March 23, 2025, at the age of 49 due to complications from liver illness. His sudden demise was a major loss to the Indian television industry, and he is remembered fondly by colleagues and fans for his creativity, humility, and humorous storytelling.
