Biography

Namitha Pramod is an actress, who mainly works in the Malayalam Film industry. She began her career as a child artist on Malayalam TV Serials. In 2011, she made her first debut in the film 'Traffic' directed by Rajesh Pillai. Her first lead role in the film Puthiya Theerangal has received much appreciation from audiences. Apart from films the actress also appeared in many advertisements like Bhima Jewelers, Francis Alukkas and Ripple Tea. Personal Life Namitha Parmod was born to Pramod and Indu in Kottayam , Kerala. She has one sibling, named Akhita Pramod. After completing her school education, she was enrolled at St. Teresa's College to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Career Life Namitha began her acting journey as a television actor. She featured in Vellankanni Mathavu, Amme Devi, and Ente Manasa Puthri when she was studying in high school class. She forayed into the film industry in 2011 with the film Traffic, directed by the late Rajesh Pillai, and starred Sreenivasan, Kunchako Boban, Rahman, and Lena in the lead roles. The film brought a new wave in Malayalam Film Industry and received good reviews from critics and audiences alike. The actress got a break in the industry, with the film Puthiya Theerangal opposite Nivin Pauly. The film was directed by Sathyan Anthikkada and she played a female protagonist role. It received negative and positive reviews, but the actress grabbed the audience's attention for her stellar performance. IN 2013, She bagged the new face of the year award at Amrita Film Awards Night. She was then seen in a lead role in the films such as Sound Thoma, and Pullipulikalum Aattinkuttiyum. In 2014, she played a female lead role opposite Dulquer Salman and Unni Mukudan in Lal Joe's film Vikramadithyan. The film was a super hit and earned 15.18 crores at the Kerala box office alone. The actress won the Best Star Pair Award at Vanitha Film Award Function. Since then she acted in several films such as Villali Veeran, Ormayundo Ee Mukham, and Chandrettan Evideya. In 2015, she surprised people with her performance in the films like Amar Akbar Anthony and Adi Kapyare Kootamani. She won the Vanitha Film Awards for Most Popular Actress Category for the same film. As an actress, Namitha also made her debut in other industries like Telugu and Tamil. She made her first debut in Tamil with the film En Kaadhal Pudhithu in 2014. Chuttalabbai was her first Telugu film directed by Veerabhdram Chowdary in 2016. After that, she appeared in a lead role in the multi-starrer film Kammara Sambhavam in 2018. The film starred Dileep, Siddharth, and Bobby Simhaa in the lead roles. It was directed by Rathish Ambat and written by Murali Gopi. Actor Dileep gained appreciation from critics and audiences for his brilliant performance and it became a successful movie at the box office. She was last seen in the thriller film Eesho directed by Nadirsha and headlined by Jayasurya and Jaffar Idukki. Awards   The actress has received many awards and got nominations for her outstanding performance in the industry. In 2012 the actress played her first lead role in Director Sathyan Anthikkad's film Puthiya Theeranghal. For this movie, she bagged the new face of the year award at Amrita Film Award Function and was nominated for Best Female Debutant Category at SIIMA Awards Night. She was the two-time winner of the Vanitha Film Awards for the films such as Vikramadithyan, Amar Akbar Anthony, and Adi Kapyare Kootamani.
