Biography

Pranit More is an Indian stand-up comedian, radio jockey, and content creator known for his sharp observational humor in Hindi and Marathi. Born in Mumbai to a middle-class family with roots in Khed, Ratnagiri, Pranit grew up with aspirations of becoming a pilot. After an unsuccessful attempt to join a pilot training program, he shifted his focus to academics, completing a Bachelor of Management Studies from KJ Somaiya College and an MBA in Marketing from Welingkar Institute. During his MBA, Pranit discovered his passion for comedy when he participated in the Canvas Laugh Club’s Open Mic Maverick competition, which he won. This marked the beginning of his journey as a comedian. Initially an introvert, Pranit overcame his hesitation through open mic performances and gradually became a popular name in the comedy circuit. Before stepping fully into stand-up, Pranit worked as a Radio Jockey and content creator with Mirchi FM from 2019 to 2023. He also hosted major events like the Filmfare Awards Marathi and Filmfare OTT Awards. His comedy style is rooted in relatable, everyday life experiences, often featuring crowd work and storytelling. Pranit has performed across India and is known for his successful specials such as Baap Ko Mat Sikha (2023), which explored parenting and generational gaps, and Back Bencher (2024), a nostalgic take on mischievous school days. His viral YouTube video “Rusticate – Stand Up Comedy Ft. Pranit More” brought him widespread recognition and a growing digital audience through his channel, “morepranit.” In addition to his creative work, Pranit is an animal lover and has often shared about his pets on social media. As of 2025, he remains unmarried and continues to tour extensively with his comedy shows. In February 2025, Pranit faced a major controversy when he was physically assaulted in Solapur after a performance, allegedly by a group angered by jokes about actor Veer Pahariya. The incident sparked widespread discussion on freedom of speech and artistic expression. Pranit later made a strong comeback with a viral video titled “Veer Marathi,” reaffirming his resilience and commitment to comedy.
