Purab Kohli Biography

Purab Kohli is an Indian model, VJ, and actor. He started his career as a model and earned recognition through video jockeying on Channel V. Purab initially wanted to be a pilot, but he got a chance in acting with the teenage show Hip Hip Hurray on Zee TV and then shows like 'Chota Moo Badi Baat' and 'Sangharsh' for B4U followed. After these brief stints in acting on TV shows, came his rendezvous with Channel [V].

Purab has also featured in several ads like Colgate, Pizza Hut, Compaq Presario, Amaron Batteries, Castrol, etc. He made his acting debut with 'Bus Yuhin' (2003) opposite Nandita Das. Besides this film, he acted in 'Supari' (2003), 'Vastu Shastra' (2004), '13th floor' (2005) but it was 'My Brother Nikhil' (2005) which proved lucky for him. From then on he starred in Mahesh Bhatt's "Woh Lamhe" (2006) and as a villain again in Bhatt's "Awarapan"(2007). He also acted in "Rock On" (2008) along with Farhan Akhtar and Arjun Rampal.

Purab has several hobbies: swimming, trekking, music and dance. He is married to Yamini Namjoshi, who is a theatre actress. He is also prominent filmmaker Shekhar Kapur's nephew.
