Raghu Ram Biography

Raghu Ram is the senior supervising producer at MTV India and the executive producer of the reality television series MTV Roadies and MTV Splitsvilla

Early life and education
He was born an identical-twin in Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India, and raised in Delhi, India, along with his twin brother, Rajeev Lakshman.

The brothers studied at the Woodstock School in Landour, Uttarakhand. They later attended the University of Delhi in Delhi. In the first year, both were students of the university's Deshbandhu College, but in the second year, they joined its Sri Venkateswara College. They did not sit for the third year at all, and both brothers dropped out of the college.

MTV Roadies
Ram started at MTV India supervising shows including MTV Love Line with Malaika Arora Khan and Cyrus Broacha, video jockeys (VJ)s, and also lead MTV Select and the first few seasons of MTV Super Select with VJ Nikhil Chinapa.

His idea of MTV Roadies was accepted as an experimental project by MTV in 2000. The show was tentatively entitled MTV: Find The Road, and was initially met with skepticism by the senior producers of the channel. The series débuted in 2003 and at January 2010 the series continues.

Ram has continuously been in controversies about his style of words, but thinks he remains the sole responsible for rebirth of MTV.[citation needed]

Personal life
In 2009, he made guest appearances along with his brother, Rajeev, on MTV Connected, a television game show about twins. The brothers had both been the judges of Roadies 6.0.

Currently his brother works with Channel [V] India, the Indian affiliate of the international music television network Channel [V]. Soon[when?] he will be seen on the television series The Player.

Ram is married to Sugandha Garg who appeared as Shaleen in the Hindi-language film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na (2008).
