Biography

Raj Nidimoru was born on 4 August 1975 in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, into a Telugu-speaking family. He completed his B.Tech in Computer Science at SVU College of Engineering, Tirupati. After graduation, he moved to the United States to work as a software engineer. However, his passion for storytelling and filmmaking led him to transition from technology to the film industry, marking the beginning of his creative journey. Career Raj Nidimoru is best known as one half of the filmmaking duo Raj & DK , alongside Krishna D.K. The pair started with smaller independent films and gradually made their mark in mainstream Hindi cinema and OTT content. Their debut feature film, Flavors (2003) , explored the experiences of Indian immigrants, while their Hindi film 99 (2009) marked their entry into mainstream Bollywood. Known for their innovative storytelling, Raj & DK have earned acclaim for blending genres, humor, and unique narratives. Notable Works Over the years, Raj Nidimoru has directed and co-directed several notable projects. Films like Shor in the City (2011) , Go Goa Gone (2013) , and A Gentleman (2017) have been praised for their creativity and entertainment value. In the OTT space, the duo has delivered blockbuster series including The Family Man , Farzi , Guns & Gulaabs , and Citadel: Honey Bunny , contributing significantly to India’s digital storytelling landscape. Personal Life Raj Nidimoru was married to associate director Shhyamali De , and the couple has a daughter. He maintains a relatively private personal life and is known to be a pet lover. Recently, wedding buzz around Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Raj Nidimoru took a dramatic turn after reports claimed that the actress secretly tied the knot with the filmmaker.
