Career & Breakthrough Before becoming a director, Ramkumar gained experience as an assistant director on the film Balloon. His debut film Parking, starring Harish Kalyan and M. S. Bhaskar, was released on December 1, 2023. The story revolved around a seemingly small parking dispute between neighbours that gradually escalates into a powerful exploration of ego, class tension, and human behaviour. The film was both a critical and commercial success and earned praise for its tight screenplay, realism, and intense performances. National Award & Recognition At the 71st National Film Awards, Parking won major honours, including Best Tamil Film, Best Supporting Actor (for M. S. Bhaskar), and Best Screenplay (Feature Film) for Ramkumar Balakrishnan.
