Ravi Belagere Biography

Ravi Belagere is a writer and journalist based in Bangaluru, Karnataka, India. He is the editor of Kannada language tabloid Hi Bangalore, which he founded along with R. T. Vittalamurthy, Ra. Somanath, Jogi, and I. H. Sangam Dev. He used to run a show called Crime Diary, which aired on a regional Kannada-language channel ETV Kannada, that focuses on crime in Karnataka, and he recently started Prarthana, a school for children in Bangalore.

Controversy Over Vijaya Karnataka And Pratap Simha:

In December 2010, Ravi Belagere wrote a derogatory remark on popular young Kannada journalist Pratap Simha in his weekly Hai Bangalore. This followed with the resignation of Vijaya Karnataka editor-in-chief Vishweswar Bhat, Pratap Simha and P. Thyagraj. This gave a death blow to the well-established Kannada daily.

Death

Ravi Belagere died on November 12th, 2020 night due to heart attack.
