Born on November 12, 1960, in Thiruvananthapuram, Santhosh K. Nayar hailed from a family that deeply valued education his father was a retired headmaster, and his mother a retired teacher. He went on to pursue higher studies in mathematics at Mahatma Gandhi College, where he was a junior to Mohanlal. His college days not only shaped his academic foundation but also exposed him to the cultural and artistic environment that would later influence his journey into acting. With a disciplined upbringing and a strong educational background, Santhosh K. Nayar gradually transitioned into the world of cinema, where he went on to carve a niche for himself through a variety of memorable roles.

Death
Santhosh K. Nayar passed away on May 5, 2026, following a tragic road accident in Pathanamthitta, Kerala. According to reports, the car he was travelling in collided with a lorry, leading to serious injuries. He was rushed for medical treatment, but it is reported that the actor suffered a heart attack while undergoing care, ultimately leading to his demise.
