Shafi

Shafi is a popular Indian film director who mainly worked in Malayalam film industry. He is best known for his movies like Kalyanaraman, Marykkundoru Kunjaadu, and Two Countries.

Career Life
Shafi, a celebrated figure in Malayalam cinema, is renowned for his outstanding contributions to comedy films. He made his directorial debut in 2001 with One Man Show and, over the span of his two-decade career, directed numerous successful films, solidifying his status as a prominent director. Some of his most iconic works include Pulival Kalyanam, Thommanum Makkalum, Mayavi, and Marykkonduru Kunjaadu.

Throughout his career, Shafi collaborated with several big stars, including Mammootty, Dileep, Jayaram, Jayasurya, Kunchacko Boban, Kalabhavan Mani, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Bhavna, Mamta Mohandas, Kochin Haneefa, Kavya Madhavan, and Navya Nair. His latest directorial project was Aanandam Paramanandam, a comedy-drama released in 2022. Starring Sharafudheen and Indrans in lead roles, the film was produced by Saptha Tharang Creations, with a script by M Sindhuraj.

Death
 Shafi, the acclaimed filmmaker, passed away in Kochi on January 26, 2024. After suffering a stroke on January 16, he had been undergoing treatment but remained in critical condition for several days before his unfortunate demise.
