Early Life & Education:
Shefali was born into a middle-class Gujarati family. She completed her engineering degree in Computer Applications from Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Mumbai. Despite her technical background, she was drawn to the entertainment industry.
Career Highlights:
Shefali shot to national fame in 2002 with the remix music video “Kaanta Laga,” which made her an overnight sensation. Her bold and glamorous avatar in the song became iconic in early 2000s pop culture.
She later appeared in several music videos and reality TV shows, including:
Nach Baliye 5 & 7 (dance reality show with husband Parag Tyagi)
Bigg Boss 13 (2019), where her dignified and strong presence earned her appreciation
She also featured in a few Kannada films like Hudugaru and made occasional appearances in TV shows and commercials.
Personal Life:
Shefali was previously married to musician Harmeet Singh of the Meet Bros duo. The couple divorced in 2009. In 2014, she married actor Parag Tyagi, and the two were considered one of the most loved couples in reality TV.
She had been open about her health issues, especially her battle with epilepsy, which she had since her teenage years.
Death:
Shefali passed away on June 27, 2025, reportedly due to a cardiac arrest in Mumbai. Her sudden demise shocked the industry and fans alike.
