Shweta Basu Prasad Biography
Shwetha Prasad (also known as Shweta Basu Prasad) is an Indian actress.
Prasad was born in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, and moved to Mumbai when she was a child. Her mother’s ancestry stretches to West Bengal, thus she can read and write Bengali too. Her dad is from Uttar Pradesh and later moved to Delhi and he has a strong background in Theatre.
Prasad started her career as a child actress in 2002 at the age of 11. She acted in a dual role as Chunni and Munni in her debut film Makdee and got the National Award for The Best Child Artiste for the same.
In 2005, she acted in Iqbal as Khadija and in Vaah! Life Ho To Aisi. In 2006, she acted in Ram Gopal Varma's Darna Zaroori Hai as Ashu. She debuted in Tollywood as a heroine in the film Kotha Bangaru Lokam, which also had Varun Sandesh as the hero. She is well acclaimed for her acting in all the languages.
She was not only the actress of "Kotha Bangaru Lokam" but she also sang a song for the movie Nenani Neevani.
Controversy
Shweta Basu Prasad was arrested for being engaged in a high-profile prostitution racket. According to reports, the actress was caught red-handed after the police raided a reputed hotel at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad on Sunday, August 31, 2014. Along with her, the police had reportedly taken other businessmen into their custody.
