Early Life

Sonal Monteiro attended St. Agnes College in Mangalore. During her college years, she ventured into modeling and won titles such as Miss Beautiful Smile 2013 and Miss Konkan 2015. She made her first notable appearance in the Konkani music album "Anjea Sarkhen Chedun" by Late Jerome Dsouza, which gained popularity in the coastal region upon its release on YouTube in 2013.

Career

Sonal made her acting debut in 2015 with the Tulu film "Ekka Saka." She went on to play a modern girl in "Jai Tulunad" and a lead role in the romantic comedy "Pilibail Yamunakka." Her Sandalwood career began with "Abhisaarike," released in 2018, followed by "MLA" with Pratham the same year. Sonal also signed on for the Bollywood film "Saajan Chale Sasuraal 2" and has two Sandalwood films, "Gaalipata 2" and "Buddivantha 2," in production. Her recent release, "Panchatantra," directed by Yogaraj Bhat, was a superhit romantic comedy. Her performance in "Roberrt" in 2021 further established her as a significant talent in the industry.

Apart from acting, Sonal is actively involved in stage shows, serves as a jury member for beauty pageants, and participates in singing. She is also the director of Fashion ABCD, a fashion event and celebrity management company.

In 2024, it was revealed that Sonal Monterio is in a relationship with director Tarun Sudhir, whom she met on the set of "Roberrt." The couple's wedding took place in a grand ceremony on August 11 at Poornima Palace near Kengeri in Bengaluru. The event became a star-studded affair, attracting a dazzling array of celebrities and political dignitaries, making it one of the most talked-about weddings of the year.
