T. M. Soundararajan (TMS) was a legendary playback singer from the Tamil film industry. He had given his voice to most of the actors such as M. G. Ramachandran, Sivaji Ganesan, Jey Sankar and Ravichandran in Tamil films.
Popularly known as "TMS", he was from the Sourashtra community from Madurai. He was a devotee of Lord Subrahmanya (called Lord Murugan in Tamil) and sang many devotional songs on the deity. Even at the age of 85 years, he used to actively sing for Tamil Film industry.
T.M.S. was the first singer to introduce the stereo system to tamil songs by his "mannanalum thiruchenthooril mannaven" and his devotional song was heard by all types of people.
