Tina Datta Biography

Tina Datta is an Indian actress and model who is known for her work on Hindi television. She rose to fame after portraying Ichcha in the drama series Uttaran, for which she won the Producers Guild Award for Best Actress. She went on to participate in the stunt-based reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi 7 and the reality series Bigg Boss 16.

Personal Life

Datta was born on November 27, 1991, to Madhumita Datta and Tapan Kumar Datta in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. She had a sibling named "Debraj Datta," and she completed her schooling at the Meghmala Roy Education Centre and St. Paul's Boarding and Day School. She continued her education by graduating from the Mithibai College of Arts at SVKM and earning her English Honours degree from the University of Calcutta.

As a Child Artist

In the 1997 Bengali film Pita Maata Santan, Tina Datta made her professional breakthrough as a young artist. She made an appearance in Dus Number Bari, a Bengali movie, that same year. She had two Bengali cinema roles in 2003, Tharak and Chokher Bali. She collaborated with Aishwarya Bachchan on Chokher Bali. In the 2005 Bollywood movie Parineeta, Tina made her acting debut as Young Lalita Roy.

Television Career

In 1996, Tina Datta, at five years old, made her acting debut in the entertainment world as a child artist in the TV series Sister Nivedita. And after 11 years, she portrayed the dual roles of Hiya and Saira in the Bengali TV series Khela in 2007. She portrayed Kumkum Roy Choudhary in the 2008 Bengali TV series Durga. She had a role in the Bengali reality comedy TV series I Laugh You in the same year.

Tina earned her Hindi television breakthrough in 2009 by playing Ichha Bharti Singh Bundela in the Colours TV series Uttaran. She performed in the programme until 2015. She portrayed the character Paromita Roy in the Hindi supernatural drama TV series Koi Aane Ko Hai that same year. She acted as Shani's wife, Dhamini, in her first mythological TV series, Shani, which she completed in 2017.

As a Contestant

She made a cameo in Season 5 of Bigg Boss in 2011. She took part in the inaugural and second seasons of the Box Cricket League (BCL) in 2014 and 2016 while playing for the Ahmedabad Express franchise. In 2016, Tina participated in the seventh season of the reality competition Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi. In addition, she has made appearances in a number of reality TV programmes, including Comedy Circus (2009), Comedy Nights with Kapil (2013), Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 7 (2014), Comedy Classes (2015), Comedy Nights Bachao (2016), and others. Additionally, she participated in numerous projects in the Indonesian entertainment sector.

Bigg Boss Season 16

In October 2016, Tina Datta signed up to compete in the 16th season of the Hindi reality TV programme Bigg Boss. She was booted off the show on December 10th, 2022; however, Shaleen Bhanot saved her, allowing her to return on December 11th, 2022. The most talked-about relationship in the show was the deep friendship and connection between Shaleen and Tina.
